PROTOCOL II


REMOTE FILE
This is where you put the URL of the file you want to upload to your site. NOTE: Protocol II may have the URL of the last place you visited in this box. If it is NOT the URL of the file you want to upload to your server, erase the URL in the box and type in the URL of the file you want to upload.

FTP SERVER NAME
This is where you put the FTP address for your server (ftp.tripod.com, ftp.angelfire.com, etc.).

RENAME TO
This where you put the name of your new file. NOTE: Protocol II automatically puts the name and file extention in this box of the file you are copying. If you want to name it something else just erase the name in the box and type in the name you choose. Don't forget to add the file extention to the new name.

DIRECTORY
This is where you put the name of the directory or subdirectory that you want the file to be uploaded to.

USER NAME
This is where you put the user name that you use to login to your server account.

PASSWORD
This is where you put the password that you use to login to your server account.

Now you are ready to upload your new file. You will see two buttons below where you typed in your password. They are blank buttons. Move your cursor down to activate them. One is used to "reset" the form and the other one is used to "upload". Choose the one that says "upload". You will see four red lights start to blink when you click on the "upload" button. All you have to do is wait for a pop-up that will tell you your file was successfully uploaded.
