To use the Freeloader FTP server you must have a
web site to upload to. It is also a good idea to
have directories or subdirectories created to
keep your things organized and easy to find and
use once they are uploaded.
When you go to the Freeloader
http://domania.net/freeload/ scroll down to the
area where you fill in the form. Ignore Cookies
for now. I will get to that a little further down
on this page. Fill in the form this way:
FILE TO BE COPIED (required)
This is where you put the address of whatever you
are uploading. NOTE: If the last thing you
viewed is your image or mid the address will
automatically be in this box. Read it to be sure
it's what you want. If it's not just delete
what's in the box and put the correct address in
it.
REMOTE FTP SERVER (required)
This is where you put the name of your FTP server
- ftp.tripod.com. ftp.angelfire.com,
ftp.dencity.com for examples.
USER LOGIN (required)
This is where you put the name you use to login
to your web site.
PASSWORD (required)
This is where you put the password you use to
login to your web site.
SUBDIRECTORY (if any)
This is not required but will save a lot of time
later on if you place your items in a
subdirectory.
NEW NAME FOR FILE (required)
You need to name the item you are uploading. Be
sure you use the proper file extension - .gif,
.jpg, .mid, etc. THEN JUST CLICK on one of the
four transloaders in the gray boxes. NOTE: use
only the ones on the top row unless you have paid
a fee and are a registered supporter of the
Freeloaders. You will be taken to a new page that
shows you the results. I always scroll down to
make sure it says the transfer is complete.
COOKIES
Once you have filled out the form and know you
will be using the Freeloader again, using the
same FTP server, same user name, same password,
same subdirectory BEFORE you click on a
transloader scroll down to the bottom of the page
and click on a # next to SAVE COOKIES. This will
store the above info for you. The next time you
use the Freeloader click on a Cookie # above the
File to be Copied area and the form will
automatically be filled out for you. The ONLY
areas you will NEED to fill in are File to be
Copied and New Name for File. And then just click
on a transloader button and you are done!
